International Volunteer Community Association is a “Non Profit Organisation” collaborating with various other organizations in southern Thailand.
We understand that there are many paths to choose in life, and our goal here is to gather as many like-minded individuals to walk along the same path as us, which is the path towards higher awareness of wilderness conservation, and social justice and equality for all. Our footsteps, together, can turn a small path into a road, which can improve the life of all who choose to become Road Experience volunteer.
Our organization is the heart of the community, we provide monetary support through our community bank to local businesses and farmers who strive to achieve the same goal as us, which is to create a better future for the next generation and to stress the importance of a sustainable way of life without being dependent on large companies that would put these local people out of work.
We strive to provide free and quality education to underprivileged children which we believe reflects the fact that every child is entitled to fundamental human rights and is to be treated with dignity. Where children are exposed to poverty, violence, abuse, or exploitation, those rights demand our urgent protection.
Our education provides children with life skills that will enable them to prosper later in life. It equips children with the skills to maintain a healthy and productive existence, to grow into resourceful and socially active adults, and to make cultural and political contributions to their communities. Education also transmits more abstract qualities such as critical thinking skills, healthy living, resilience, and self-confidence
We support cultural preservation in many ways. One of the most important ways is instilling in the hearts and minds of the upcoming generation a great importance on benefits of living a simple life in harmony with mother nature. We also support many local organizations who share the same goals as us.
We raise awareness of conservation issues through various educational projects by providing support to local conservation organizations. We also have an evolving learning center which provides classes and research opportunities to anyone who is interested. Feedback on current projects and ideas for future projects is how we keep growing, and the more we grow the more contacts we make. Some of the topics we discuss are responsible environmental management, the importance of our natural resources, and how our actions impact our eco-system.
Since 2003 we have been working with volunteers on many projects aimed towards social-upliftment. Forest conservation is one of our aims, and necessary due to the severe deforestation brought on by the rubber industry. During this time our group was successfully established as the “Volunteer for Forest Conservation Group”, which today is managed independently by the local community.
In 2008 we shifted our focus to educational development. With the help of our volunteers, we have set up various educational projects, which are still running to this day.
We are trying to extend our projects to as many locations that need help as possible especially in forest conservation, natural resources and education. All communities working with us must actively participate and put the society first.
